Luchien chooses a brush and removes the head to keep the handle. He does the same to a second brush, and keeps the handle. Gabin brings him a piece of rope and together they tie two knots one at each end. Luchien is a pole-vaulter. With a look of concentration he runs with the pole towards the clothesline. He is gasping. He jumps over the clothesline and falls into the pool on the inflatable chair, a cocktail in hand. Gabin is perched on the clothesline. He claps Luchien with his small wings.
